Photographs and documents are uploaded once and then used wherever you want them. One photo can be the big picture at the top, one of the gallery, and the picture on a news post, all at once. Any page can carry one too. A document is a link, on your home page or on whichever page it belongs to.
Adding a photo
Open Photos and there are two questions above the file box. Answer both first.
- What is in the photo? A line for anybody who cannot see it. “The courts on a summer evening” is enough.
- The tick. It says the people in the photo are happy for the club to publish it. A photo without it is never shown.
JPEG, PNG, HEIC or WebP, up to 12MB each, and you can pick several at once. We re-encode every one for the web, so a photo straight off a phone is fine. What we keep is the version that goes on the page, and not the original with its date and its location in it.
Your club can hold 60 photos in all, and 8 of them can be on the home page at a time. Tick the ones you want there, and the arrows put them in the order you want. The count under the button says where you are.
Nothing you upload is hidden. Anything not on the home page is on your Photos page, which appears as soon as you have more photographs than the home page is showing. A visitor who taps one gets it full size.
The line saying what is in a photo can be changed afterwards. It is a box under each one, so a typo is a typo rather than a reason to delete the photograph and send it again.
The big picture, and your badge
Those two are chosen under About the club rather than here, because they are not gallery photographs. The big picture goes across the top of the home page. Your badge goes in the bar at the top of every page, and it is added on that same screen.
Under the big picture there is a small square of it with a dot on it. Tap the part that matters, or use the arrow keys. A photograph is cropped differently on a phone and on a laptop, and the dot is what the crop holds on to.
Documents
A PDF, up to 10MB, and your club can hold 60 of them, with 20 shown on a page. Say what kind it is before you send it: a safeguarding policy, a code of conduct, the club rules, the constitution, AGM minutes, a newsletter. Then say what the link should say.
The kind matters. Your safeguarding policy is the one document with a block of its own on the home page, and that block looks for a document you have said is one.
Each document has a tick saying whether it is on the website. So you can upload something, choose the kind, and put it up when the committee has seen it. What the link says and what kind it is can both be changed afterwards.
Which page a document is on
A document that is on the website also says which page it sits on. The fees sheet belongs under Membership, the court rules under Courts, the junior policy on your own Juniors page. Leave it as The home page and it goes where every document used to go.
Safeguarding
The screen asks for two things: your welfare officer and your policy. It goes on asking until both are in. The LTA asks every venue for this, and a parent looks for it before they look at anything else.
Taking one down
Take it down removes it from the website and from every page it was on. Nothing else you have written changes.
