Your members pay their subs by Direct Debit, into your club's own bank account. The money goes from the member to the club. It never passes through us.
We charge a flat fee for the software and take no percentage of what you collect. The fee is on the pricing page.
Connecting your account
Go to Settings, then Collecting subscriptions. Press connect, and you are taken to GoCardless's own page to authorise it.
No GoCardless account yet? You can open one on that page and come straight back.
Only the owner can do this. It is your club's banking arrangement rather than a setting.
When you come back the card says which of three things happened. Connected and ready, waiting on GoCardless's checks, or something went wrong and here is the button again.
Do you hold our bank details?
No. What we hold is a token that lets us ask GoCardless to collect on your behalf, and it is encrypted.
Your club can cancel that permission from its own GoCardless dashboard whenever it likes.
When does money actually move?
Nothing is taken on a date. A collection happens when your treasurer presses Collect, and not before.
Your membership year can carry a due date. That is the day you are asking members to have paid by, which is a different thing, and the screen says so.
When you press Collect, everybody with a Direct Debit and something owed is collected in one go. GoCardless tells them in advance, as the rules require. The money reaches your club a few working days later.
If it says reconnect
Press connect again. Three different things can cause it and your next move is the same for all three, so the card says the one word and gives you the one button.
If your club revokes us in GoCardless, we hear about it and the card says so. Nothing is deleted. When a club was connected is part of its accounts.
