Getting on the list
The club puts you on. Whoever runs the club adds your name, and from that moment members can see you and ask you for an hour. There is nothing for you to sign up to.
You do not have to be a member of the club. A visiting coach teaches here and takes courts to coach on, enters no competitions, and costs the club nothing on its bill.
Everything of yours is on the Coaching screen: what you are being asked for, what you have agreed to give, and your prices.
Your prices
You set them, not the club. Add a price, name it in your own words, say how long it lasts and what it costs. Members see the name and the amount.
A price is one of three things. One lesson, a block of several for one amount, or a group of up to a set number of people, priced each.
There is a line under your name too. One sentence saying who you are and when you are about. Something like “LTA level 3, evenings and Saturday mornings”. It is the first thing a member reads.
Answering a request
Somebody asks, and suggests times they can play. They come up under Waiting for your answer, with what they are after and anything they said. Press one of their times and it is agreed.
Some requests go to every coach here. The screen says so, and the first to answer takes it. Not me passes it on and leaves it open for somebody else. It is not a refusal on behalf of the club.
If none of the times work, say so. They can ask again with different ones.
Putting a group on
Pick one of your group prices, a day, a time and how many places. Members take places themselves and you can see how many are left.
A weekly group is real weeks, not a rule. Say how many and you get that many evenings, each one movable or cancellable on its own, because “we are not on next Tuesday” is the ordinary week.
Your groups are one row each in your list, with the headcount on them. A group nobody has joined yet is still there, so you can see it needs talking about.
What happened
A lesson counts as taught unless somebody says otherwise. There is no register to take. If it did not happen, press it, and you have a week to do so.
On a group, one press marks the whole evening off, and marking one person is one absentee. The ordinary case is nobody missing and no presses at all.
The money
We never move any of it. The club has said one of two things: you take the money on court, or it goes on the member’s club tab. The club has also said what its share of a lesson is.
The share is worked out when the lesson is agreed and written down then. If the club changes it in March, nothing you taught in September is re-cut.
At the end of the month the club can see what is owed each way, and you square up between you. The club’s side of this is where that lives.
Courts
Where the club keeps a court diary, your coaching is blocked out on it. That is the club’s job rather than yours, and it is how members can see the court is spoken for.
