A box league and a draw have different answers, because a box match nobody played costs nothing but a row and a draw match nobody played stops the tournament.
In a box
Nothing is overdue until the season ends, and until then it is not your job to chase it. Anybody with a match still to play is nudged 14, 7, 3 and 1 days before the end, and told how many they owe. They also get a way to offer their opponent some times. See Notifications and Arranging a match.
When the season does end, an unplayed match simply scores nothing for both of them, and that is usually the right answer. If the two of them have agreed it will not be played, open the match and press Nothing to enter so it stops showing as still to play.
If a player is not turning out at all, the answer is next season rather than this one. Rolling over can be set to relegate anybody who played no matches. It can also hold back anybody who played fewer than a number you choose. The roll-over screen names everybody it moves and why.
In a draw
Every round of a tournament with a span has a play-by date, proposed when the draw is made and yours to change. Anything past its date is on one screen with three answers on it:
- Give them longer. It moves the date on that match alone.
- Award it to one side as a walkover.
- Take both sides out. The next round gets the walkover.
A day tournament has none of this, and that is the whole point of the tick. Everything is played on the one day, so no round carries a date and nothing in it can ever be overdue. The same goes for a social night.
We never email a player about any of it. No reminders, no results, no deadline chasing. You see what is overdue and the club does the chasing in the group chat it already has.
