The squad is whoever the captain remembers. The new member who is better than half of them never gets asked.
Someone pulls out on Thursday and the whole thread starts again from the top.
The fixture list goes in once. After that it is three taps a week.
Straight off the league's email. Dates, opposition, home or away are read off it. You check it before anything is saved.
Everyone you asked last time is already ticked. Anyone else in the club can put their own name down. The ask goes to their phone and their email, and they answer by tapping yes, no or maybe. No sign-in, nothing to install.
Tap "Fill with the strongest yeses" and the empty slots fill, strongest first. Swap a name if you like. Press "Confirm the side" and everyone's phone shows the team sheet.
The captain's phone says "Men's 2nd is a player short". One tap opens the side to pick somebody else.
Who can play
Anyone can change their mind. Nobody is marked down for saying no.
Pick someone already picked for another team that day and it tells you which. Everything else is your league's rule to apply: "3 for Men's 1st" is shown, not enforced.
Tick the courts on the fixture and they are blocked with the match's name on them. Postpone it or call it off and the courts go back to the club.
Members see the fixtures, the confirmed side and "9 can play so far". Who said no is the captain's business.
