Next season builds the next one from this season’s final table. The button is at the foot of League settings once a season has finished, and how many move is under Promotion and relegation there. It is on every paid plan, and not on One Box.
It arrives as a plan
- Change itDrag players between boxes or tap a name. Add anyone new, and sit out anyone away.
- Read what it noticedMatches still unplayed. Someone going down who never played. Which tie-break split two players level at the cut. Who might move two boxes.
- Take it liveThe new season is made as a draft for you to check first.
Once you have moved somebody, the numbers along the top stop redrawing the plan. Press Start again from the table to use them.
Making people play
Promotion and relegation has a third number: matches you must play to go up. At 0 it is off. Above 0, two rules come on. Here it is 3.

Short of the number, you are not eligible for promotion. The next player down goes up instead, so the boxes stay the same size.

Play no matches at all and you go down, wherever you finished. That is on top of the usual two.
The Next season screen names everybody either rule moves, with their match count. Try a value there and see who it catches before you save.
Two boxes at once
Sometimes one box is not enough. The Next season screen lists Suggested moves above the boxes, and nothing moves until you tap one.

Won every match comfortably, and their level sits with the box two above. Both have to say it. The same at the bottom for somebody who lost every one.

Played nothing, and did not put their name down when you asked the club who wants to play. If you never asked, it says nothing.
Tap Move to Box 2 or Leave it, and Undo puts them back. It is for singles, because a pair has no level of its own. To switch it off, untick Suggest moves when you build next season in League settings.
Chasing the matches
You are not the one doing the chasing. Before the season ends, Clayside nudges the players:
- 14 daysA nudge to anybody with a match still to play, naming how many they owe.
- 7, 3, 1 daysAgain, to whoever still owes one.
Players can offer each other times from the fixture itself (see Arranging a match). To say something yourself, there is one message to the whole club, at most two a week. See Notifications.
