Clayside  ·  The guide  ·  Groups of boxes

How do I run separate groups of boxes?

Singles, ladies’ doubles and mixed in one season, each its own league.

Request support

Some clubs run more than one box league in a season. Six singles boxes, three ladies’ doubles and three mixed doubles, say. Nobody should go up from mixed doubles into ladies’ doubles. A group is how you tell Clayside that.

Two groups, each with its own Box 1. Promotion and relegation stay inside each group, so the top box of a group sends nobody up and the bottom box sends nobody down.

Without groups, singles boxes promote among singles boxes and doubles boxes among doubles boxes. That works until you run two kinds of doubles.

Putting boxes in groups

  1. Groups and orderOpen the season planner and press it.
  2. Put the boxes in groupsYour boxes go into groups named after what they play, Singles and Doubles. Type over a name to change it.
  3. + Add a groupA name, what it plays and how many boxes. It goes in at the bottom of the league.

A group plays singles or doubles, never both. + Box gives a group another box, and every box counts towards your plan’s boxes. Take the groups away puts it all back. Press Save the boxes when you are done.

Changing the order

Under Groups and order, the top of the list is the top of the league. Use the arrows to move a box, or a whole group. A box at the end of a group can move into the next group if that group plays the same thing, unless it is the last box in its own.

An empty box can be taken out with the × on its column.

What else a group changes

The tabs show a button for each group, with its boxes under it, and a player sees their own groups first. The roll-over keeps promotion inside each group, and the groups carry into next season.

A person can be in one box in each group, so somebody can play ladies’ doubles and mixed doubles in the same season. Without groups, a person is in one doubles box at most.
