How do doubles boxes work?

Each box is singles or doubles, and one season can hold both. You choose when you set the box up, and it is fixed once the box exists, because every score in it was played that way.

A pair is one entry

1. One row, one set of points. A pair plays one match against each other pair and shares the points. Type both names when you set the box up.

Somebody can be in a singles box and a doubles box at the same time. Two boxes of the same kind get a warning, because that is usually a name typed into the wrong one.

Naming a partner

When you put your own name down rather than being typed in, you name the partner you want. That is how somebody joins a doubles ladder, and one way into a doubles event in a tournament.

3. They say yesYou are a pair. A no, or no answer, changes nothing: ask somebody else.

You cannot browse the club list or invent somebody, and nobody is put in a pair without agreeing to it.

A tournament event can take people on their own as well, under How players enter in its settings. Pair them up on the entry list pairs everybody still waiting, at random or by seed, and you can change any pair before you save.

Which formats a doubles box plays

The same ones a singles box plays. Padel opens on doubles and the other sports on singles. A pair enters a score exactly the way a player does.
