Who may coach here
Anybody on your register. Open Club, then Coaching, pick a name and they are on. They can take lessons from that moment.
They set their own prices. You do not type them and you cannot change them. What you can write is the line under their name, if they have not written one.
The job is coaching.manage, and your secretary holds it as well as you. Handing the coaching to whoever already keeps the register is one press.
A coach who is not a member
Tick Visiting. They go on the member list first, because that is where names live, and the tick is what keeps them off your bill.
A visiting coach coaches here and takes courts to coach on. They enter no competitions, and your plan does not count them as a member.
Taking somebody off
Take off the list keeps every lesson they ever gave. The record is real and the people named on it are real, so nothing is deleted.
They move down to Coached here before, and one press puts them back exactly as they were. Coaches come and go and come back.
The money, and it is never ours
Two answers, and you give them once. Does the coach take the money on court, or does the lesson go on the member’s club tab? And what is the club’s share of a lesson, as a percentage?
Nought is a real answer. Plenty of clubs take nothing from their coach and charge for the court instead. It is what a club starts on, and it needs no conversation on day one.
Clayside never moves this money. It records what a lesson cost and what your share of it was. You settle with your coaches in your own bank, the way you always have.
A share is worked out when a lesson is agreed and written down then. Change it in March and nothing already taught is re-cut.
What is owed
Work it out shows every lesson that was taught and not yet squared up, both ways round: what your coaches owe you, and what you owe them. Pick a month, or leave it empty for everything outstanding.
When you have settled up, press Squared up against that coach. It records that you did, and no money moves.
The whole coaching year comes out as a spreadsheet with the rest of your data, for the committee papers.
The courts
Coaching on the club diary is a block, the same as club night. Blocking courts out is where that is done, and nobody already booked is ever cancelled.
What this is not
It is not a coaching programme. No terms, no courses, no registers, no fees taken up front from forty parents. A group is a lesson with four names on it.
What it replaces is the club being the switchboard, and it gives you a number you have never had: how much coaching happened here, and whether you got your share.
