Badminton club night

Badminton club night, with the courts dealt for you

Clayside is a badminton club night app. It deals who is on each court, rotates partners so everyone plays everyone, and keeps a points table for the whole night.

No card, no password · 14 days with everything switched on

How it works

How a badminton club night runs on the app

Who is here tonight

Put the names in as people arrive, or let members add themselves before the night. Say how many courts the hall has given you.

Every court to 21

Each round is a race to 21 points between the two pairs, so the courts come off together. Change the total for a shorter night.

Nobody decides who is next

The app deals the next round as soon as the last one is in. No pegs, no queue by the door and no arguing over who has sat out longest.

Players and courts

Badminton club night: players per court

Four to a court for doubles. Whoever is not on sits out a round, fairly: nobody sits twice while someone has not. A night takes 4 to 64 players.

It deals whole rounds rather than keeping a peg board queue, so everybody plays the same amount by the end of the night.

Not yet

What badminton club night does not do yet

Tell us which your club needs and we will build it with you.

The night’s money

The per-night fee

The app does not take the hall fee on the night. Keep collecting it the way you do now.

A queue

Winners stay on

If your club night runs as a queue where winners stay on, that is not built yet. The app deals full rounds instead.

Questions

What badminton clubs ask about club night

We use a peg board. Why change?

Nobody has to watch it. The app works out who sits next before it deals, so the people who have waited longest go on, and the organiser can play too.

Who enters the scores?

The players on each court from their phones, or the organiser alone. It is a setting, and it can change halfway through the night.

Can a visitor join in?

Yes. Type their name and they are dealt in. A typed name joins the club’s list, so it counts towards the members your plan covers.

Does a club night count towards anything?

Each player’s level at the club, which helps you put people in the right league box or team. It never appears on a public page.
