What's new

A renewal round with nothing to approve

A renewal is a member you already have, at a price you have already published. So there is nothing to approve, and for most members nothing to do.

By Daniel Byrne, 7 September 2026

What changes

Three steps, and you press every one. The top of the Money screen shows Set up, Ask and Collect, and how many people each is about. Nothing on it happens by itself.

A money screen with membership applications to accept or decline, a payment to mark as paid, a refund to match, and the year's totals.
Applications waiting to be accepted, a member who says they have paid, a refund to match, and the year so far: paid, owing and written off.

Most members do nothing. Everybody who held a membership last year gets their own link. Last year’s Direct Debit collects this year untouched. Where one has stopped, the link offers a fresh one there and then.

Leaving takes one press. A member who is not coming back says so on their link. Their category is carried across by name rather than picked, so nobody can renew themselves as a junior.

Check before you send. Check and send lists the jobs down one side. Pick one and the people it is about sit beside it, a row each, with every gap on that person on one line.

Who the send reaches. The screen says, for every member, whether we can write to them. For somebody with no address at all, copy their link and hand it over.

One reminder, to the right people. Home tells you how many have not answered. Send a reminder goes to them alone, and nobody is reminded twice.

Your first year. Nobody held a membership last year, so the button is Ask the rest to pay. It goes to everybody given a subscription for this year who still owes for it.

Where to find it

On a club plan, open Money and press Start next year. Check and send and Send renewal notices are on the same screen.

How do renewals work?

Last year’s Direct Debit collects this year untouched, and a dead one is replaced on the member’s own link.
