Turn up and play
A drop-in session or an arranged game. Four players near each other on the ladder make a match.
Pickleball ladder league
Clayside is pickleball ladder league software for clubs. Every player gets a club rating from their first game, partners can rotate or stay fixed, and the scores go in on court.
No card, no password · 14 days with everything switched on
Movement is places over 30 days · form is the last five · the trend line is their rating over time · purple is a score waiting on the other player, and it counts already.
How it works
A drop-in session or an arranged game. Four players near each other on the ladder make a match.
Best of three to 11, or one game to 15 if your sessions are short. Any of the four can put it in.
Ratings move after every game, so a beginner and an improver are told apart within a fortnight rather than a season.
The rules
Your club sets the range and when resting starts. The rest is the same everywhere.
1200
Nobody is graded on the way in. A first game starts the climb.
3
A newcomer’s first three can be against anyone and move further, so they settle quickly.
±5
After those, a game counts between players this close on the ladder. Doubles compares the average of each side.
90
A player who stops coming eases down slowly each month after this, and one game stops it.
Winning raises your rating rather than swapping you with the player you beat, and turning a game down is never held against anyone.
Beside DUPR
DUPR
The ladder rating is your club’s own, for who plays whom at your sessions. Results download as a spreadsheet, one row a game. Sending them to DUPR automatically is not built yet: tell us and we will build it.
New players
Nobody guesses their own number on the way in. Everybody starts level and the games sort them out.

Questions
Yes, and no sign-up. List your players top first, log each challenge, and the spreadsheet keeps the order and says what every result did. The free ladder spreadsheet.
Not on a rotating ladder. Each player keeps their own rating and partners change from game to game. Clubs whose pairs play together can run a fixed-pairs ladder instead.
Yes. Everybody starts on the same number, and the three placing games move a new player quickly towards people of their level.
Yes. A paid plan runs up to 8 ladders: a rotating one for sessions and a fixed-pairs one for the competitive players, for example.
Make the ladder once. After that players record their own games and the order sorts itself.
