Tournaments that start with your own match

A player opening a tournament wants one thing: who they play next, and by when. The screen now leads with that, and an organiser's screen leads with what needs doing.

By Daniel Byrne, 14 October 2026

What changes

Your match first. The tournament screen opens on your own event, with your next match at the top. Every match says which one it is, for example “Singles Championship and Plate · Plate quarter-final”, so nobody plays the wrong round.

One answer everywhere. Where you have got to in a tournament reads the same on Home, on the tournament screen and on You.

Needs you, for organisers. Whoever runs the tournament sees Needs you at the top: scores to confirm and matches to chase. Anyone who runs the tournament can confirm a score, not only the club’s owner.

The draw on a phone. On a phone the draw is a list of the rounds being played, with the whole bracket a tap away. Doubles pairs are drawn on two lines, so both names fit.

A phone view of a draw: a row of rounds marked played, in play and to come, the semi-finals and final as cards, and the plate below with its late matches marked.
On a phone the draw opens on where it is up to: the rounds in a row, then the round being played, so a player finds their next match without dragging a bracket sideways.

Players are told. When an organiser gives a match longer, awards a walkover or takes both players out, the players hear about it. So does a player whose score is turned down.

Where to find it

The tournament’s own tab in the app, for every player entered and everybody who runs it. Nothing to switch on.

How does the draw work?

Seeds and byes, the plate for first-match losers, groups into a knockout, and a bracket that corrects itself.
